FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How Does Pricing Work?
Pricing depends on the type and scope of work you're looking for. Fully written and produced audio ads start at $175; short videos start at $250. Longer works like audiobooks, video series, podcasts, etc. require a detailed service agreement which defines specific services, their scope, and a customized fee for the completed project. This agreement is signed by both the client and by MonsterVox.
Can I Provide Creative Assets?
Absolutely! Clients often provide MonsterVox with text, audio, and visuals for projects: cover art, graphics, manuscripts, sound bytes, etc. However, be sure that you hold copyright or permission to use the assets that you provide, or that those assets are "royalty-free." Also, note that MonsterVox does not work with explicitly violent or sexual material and has the right to define, in its business' interest, what materials fall under these classifications.
What's Your Turnover Time?
How fast you receive a finished project depends on the type and scope of the work. It's possible for a fully-produced audio ad to be ready for delivery in 24 hours. Audiobooks and video projects can take anywhere from several weeks up to several months to complete. Service agreements for these projects will contain a timeline, and MonsterVox will send regular progress updates. Also note that longer projects will require a deposit payment (up to 50% of the total fee) before work begins.
Is Broadcast Airtime Included?
No. Airtime pricing is negotiated through representatives of radio/tv stations, media groups, etc. However, MonsterVox will collaborate with and deliver final broadcast projects to any marketing professional or media producer you are working with, as long as 'who gets approval' of the work is clearly defined in a consultation and/or service agreement.
Who Owns the Copyright of the Finished Work?
It's common practice to negotiate and define copyright ownership in a consultation or service agreement. Here is a useful framing: For projects created mostly or entirely by MonsterVox, MonsterVox retains copyright and gives usage rights in perpetuity (online only) to the client. Projects that have a high client contribution (for example, their manuscript for audiobook production, or comic book art to be used in a promo) are classified as "works-for-hire" and the client will hold copyright.
Do You Offer a Retainer?
Yes! Retainers are useful if you have a large volume of work that you need created and published regularly, like social media content, blog posts, podcasts, newsletters, etc. MonsterVox will create an initial retainer agreement for a trial period of 4 months. Any subsequent renewals will be detailed under new agreements for periods of 6 months. Retainers can be negotiated for a specified number of works per month, or a specified number of monthly service hours.
What is "Royalty-Free"?
Royalty-free assets are visual and audio elements (music, sound FX, photos, graphics, stock footage, etc.) created by others, for which MonsterVox pays blanket usage fees, in order to include said assets in its projects. These elements have been created for creators, to use without having to pay a royalty fee or pass a fee onto a client. Royalty-free assets can be used on a variety of platforms, like YouTube, without infringing copyright.

Sure! Any on-location work within 30 minutes of Bucyrus, Ohio, including Galion, Marion, Shelby, & Mansfield is done without charge. Beyond that radius may require an additional fee to help with travel costs.
